Dave Portnoy Got Gifted WILD Jordan Sneakers In New Haven "1 Of 9 Pairs Cooked & Charred Inside The Oven At Modern Apizza"

When Dave Portnoy eats pizza, the world watches intently... In droves of hundreds... And thousands. And judging from the gift he just received this week, word spreads FAST when he's taking one bite in your town.

Now it's no secret that Portnoy loves New Haven style pizza and even declared it "the pizza capital of planet earth". But this pair of custom Air Jordan 1s goes beyond compliments. This is a tribute only fit for a king. And gotta be one of the most unique items I've ever seen?

Either way, it's incredible how quickly whispers can spread about him eating in a city. Apparently he was in the area for a whole other set of new pizza reviews and somehow got tracked down by a true salt of the earth pie lover.

Shout out to Michael Pollack & The New Haven Pizza Club!

I don't know dick about fashion, so far be it from me to review these shoes. But no matter how you slice it, getting an artifact that only has 9 total in the world is pretty damn cool. Tastemaker stuff. That's what our fearless handsome tall leader Dave Portnoy does.

And goddamn does that char look CRISP. Almost makes me want to take a bite of that leather! Which really is just a testament to how incredible that Modern Apizza method is.

It's gotta be the charcoal oil fueled brick oven Money!

Look you can't go wrong eating ANY pizza in New Haven. But gun to my head, I'm going Modern at #1 out of the Big 3. Maybe it hit different for me because I tried it directly after a Celtics win in Game 1 of the 2024 NBA Finals… But honestly I think Dave might go over 9.0 if he tried another pie there today.

The one I had wasn't soupy at all. But it was the most perfect pizza I've ever consumed. Crisp/tangy/mind blowing doesn't even begin to describe it really. And that's while eating it off of a car hood.

Shout out to Will & his family for crushing it over generations there… Former KFC Radio intern that ended up leaving us to return to the family business. I'd say he made the right choice. Also thanks again for that cream soda on the house brother. Much obliged.

Mamma mia INDEED! If you haven't given the New Haven pizza tour a spin, start planning it now. It's worth at least a 3 hour drive and with how long the lines are there, you might wanna take a few days for the full monty experience. While you're at it might as well stop by NYC to give Ceres a try too.

Unless you're not into 9.2 One Bite Scores.

To wrap things up, I definitely agree with Dave's move putting the charred Jordans in a frame. Can't wear those out in public and risk a 1 of 9 pair getting scuffed by some jabroni.

But if he's gonna wear them anywhere, I'd pick the 2nd annual One Bite Pizza Fest on September 13th. It's definitely the best opportunity possible to try Modern, Sally's, Frank Pepe's, John's of Bleecker, Ceres etc all at once.

And basically the Avengers Endgame of cheese pie crossover experiences?

Just no Thanos there. Plenty of Tony's though. Salut!
