College Football Is Better Than The NFL

Look, I’ve been a die-hard NFL guy my whole life. Sundays were sacred. RedZone was my religion. I used to think college football was for weirdos who painted their chests and cried over a school they didn’t even go to. But lately? I don’t know, man… I’m starting to think college football might actually be better than the NFL.
First off, let’s talk about the atmosphere. College football games feel like an actual event. Marching bands, student sections going fucking insane, weird ass mascots doing backflips, and obviously smoking hot cheerleaders, every game feels like a damn holiday. You got places like Death Valley, The Big House, and The Swamp where the energy is so insane it feels like the stadium going to collapse. I remember going to Death Valley to see Florida play LSU and it was so loud I couldn’t hear my friend standing next to me. Meanwhile, the NFL has a DJ playing the hot 100. College football has tradition.
Then there’s just more football. On any given Saturday, there are like 60 games on. You don’t like the noon slate? Cool, there’s another mini slate of games starting at 2. Don’t like those games? SEC game of the week is starting in an hour. Oh, it’s 9:30PM you and the boys are buzzing and still want to watch ball? USC and Washington are kicking off at 10:30pm. Before you know it you’ve watched 12 straight hours of football. With the NFL, it’s Sunday, Monday night, and Thursday if you hate yourself. That’s it. Saturdays? Non-stop football.
Also, every college game actually means something. There’s no tanking for draft picks in college. There’s no “resting starters for the playoffs.” If you lose to an unranked team in Week 3, your season might be cooked. That pressure makes every game feel like life or death. NFL teams can lose five games in a row and still win their division. In college, one bad quarter can end your playoff dreams. It’s brutal. It’s dramatic. It’s kinda perfect.
And let’s be honest… college football is just more fun to watch. The pace is faster, the scores are higher, and the plays are crazier. You’ll see a triple option, a flea flicker, and a fake punt all in the same quarter. The quarterbacks are slinging it 50 times a game, the defenses are collapsing, and nobody knows what the hell is happening, but it’s fireworks the whole way. The NFL feels like chess. College football feels like beer pong at a tailgate. Give me BP over chess any day of the week.
So yeah, maybe I’m finally starting to get it. College football isn’t just for alumni or dudes who peaked in a frat house. It’s personal. It’s absolute madness from kickoff to the final whistle, and that’s what makes it amazing.
I’ll still love the NFL. But Saturdays? They’re starting to hit different.
this could also be stemming from the Dolphins be so fucking bad the last 25 years
