(AOL) - Samuel L. Jackson was the previous and longtime holder of the title, with a lifetime career box office gross of $14.6 billion in films where he plays the lead or is a lead ensemble member. Robert Downey Jr. trailed just behind with $14.3 billion.
But now Scarlett Johansson is the undisputed champ thanks to her recent tangle with prehistoric creatures: her total box office earnings sit at a whopping $14.8 billion. More impressive is the fact that Johansson managed to surpass both stars with just 36 films, compared to Jackson's 71 and Downey's 45.

Congrats to ~~ScarJo~~ Scarlett Johansson on her new box office crown! Not too shabby already having a hall of fame career locked in by 40 years old. And with a $300+ million opening weekend for 'Jurassic World' she might have a few decades left to keep stacking box office cash.

At least until RDJ returns to churn up casual billions as Dr. Doom next year. RIP Natasha.

But it's a pretty cool Hollywood ending for NYC native/bonafide theatre kid nerd. Years ago I remember reading that as a child she wanted to be an actor SO bad, she'd sit in front of the mirror for hours and force herself to cry. Doing all that because you wanna be "the next Judy Garland" is a wild goal at just 7 years old. So becoming the #1 lead actor in nearly half the number of movies has gotta feel pretty damn good for her.

Also I had no idea she's been acting in movies since 1994… I always thought 'Lost In Translation' was her 1st time on film? Didn't know she was in 'Home Alone 3' or "Eight Legged Freaks' either what a crazy start for a career.

If I had to pick my favorites from the late 2000s I'm going with 'The Prestige' & 'Vicky Christina Barcelona'. 2 VERY different vibes but ScarJo is great in both. Of course the global box office knows Scarlett best because of her Marvel character Natasha Romanoff AKA Black Widow, one of the longest tenured characters in the entire MCU.

And certainly the most limber.

Of course I am prefacing what follows below by saying I am watching RESPECTFULLY, I'm not trying to ruin anyones day out there.

So let me just add that you'd be hard pressed to find a better badass than her in Hollywood. And her acting merits are so well known by now. Shout out 'Marriage Story'. You don't become an Oscar nominee by just being a pretty face. So let's celebrate the whole 5 tool bag here. Let's light this candle!
