Kyle Stowers In The All-Star Game Over Juan Soto Is Perfectly Fine

Major League Baseball announced their All-Star Game rosters yesterday. The National League reserve announcement certainly raised some eyebrows.
There were quite a few snubs including Michael Busch and Nico Hoerner. The most glaring was that Miami Marlins outfielder Kyle Stowers made the team over future Hall Of Famer (and in his prime) Juan Soto. Stowers is having a fine enough season but the only reason he is there is because every team needs to be represented. I guess Edward Cabrera could have been picked but then you'd be removing a pitcher who had a much better year.
There is no question Juan Soto is a more deserving All-Star than Stowers.
Some fans are upset that Soto won't be at the Mid-Summer Classic and some guy who could enter the witness protection program is going to be there. By the way, here's what Kyle Stowers looks like. I think he has a sort of Jack Coleman energy to him.

I am a Mets fan and I'm OK with Soto not making it. Maybe I'm just getting older but this hardly seems like a fight worth fighting. It's for one day in July. Francisco Lindor didn't make a single All-Star Game in his first four years with the Mets. Do you think any differently of him?
I do understand the argument that could affect things like his Hall Of Fame resume. But I don't think it applies here. Soto is going to make the Hall of Famer regardless of how many All-Star Games he gets snubbed in.
Imagine you are a Marlins fan. It's not an easy existence. You don't have much to root for and the second you fall in love with a player, he gets traded away. I think it's a good rule that every team gets represented and it does help. Is there anyone who isn't going to watch the game because Juan Soto isn't playing? I think people would be watching it regardless of him playing. There are so many other stars there. I do think that there are some Marlins or Rockies fans that might not watch at all if their teams weren't represented.
Let these teams have something to root for. Every franchise has ups and downs. The Yankees and Red Sox in the early 90's were lucky to have Scott Sanderson and Scott Cooper representing those teams. If you are lucky enough to pull for a team that is doing great now, just wait. Things are cyclical.

It wasn't that long ago that Daniel Murphy was the only representative. Remember how that felt next time you want to shit on Kyle Stowers.
