We Were Led To Believe There Would Be Chaos At The NBA Draft And Unfortunately, It Turned Out To Be Complete Bullshit

As the 2024-25 NBA season started to wind down, all you heard was how crazy an offseason we were about to enter. Shams nearly called it the craziest offseason of all time
Given that once you look at the free agent market and see that there aren't really huge star blue chip players hitting the open market, that sort of eliminates free agency to some degree. To help paint that picture for you, the best player that's hitting the market is maybe Julius Randle should he not reach an extension in MIN? Maybe Myles Turner?

So if things are going to be crazy, that means the chaos is coming from either
1. Trades
2. The Draft
With the KD trade and the Holiday and Porzingis trades, we're off to a good start in that department, and I imagine we're going to be getting even more since the free agent market is mostly dogshit.
But one thing we kept hearing over and over and over again was the Draft. This is where things were going to get wild and crazy. For weeks, we were told that this was the starting point for chaos
We heard about potentially massive deals, lottery deals, players potentially on the move etc, I mean how many times did I have to hear from Shams that the Celtics were getting "crazy offers" for Jaylen Brown and Derrick White? Every second he was on TV he said the same thing over and over and over again. And I get that these people need to try and create interest in the Draft so everyone watches, I get that. But you know what I also know? That it's lame as hell to spend weeks talking about how we're going to get all this chaos at the Draft and then we get to the draft and it's the exact opposite of chaos.
All kidding aside, what was the craziest thing that happened last night? No big trades went down, the Lottery stayed mostly intact outside of the Hawks fleecing Joe Dumars at pick #13. The first 6 picks were chalk and how pretty much everyone expected things to go, and outside of Yan Hansen at #16, there really weren't too many surprise picks either

I suppose it was a little crazy to see the Nets make and keep (for now) all 5 of their 1st Round picks, something that we've never seen before in NBA history
and while Nets fans may be excited that they threw a bunch of darts at the board and are hoping a few actually stick, that is NOT the type of chaos that we were promised. That doesn't exactly get the blood flowing you know what I mean?
Now of course, there's always tonight's 2nd Round, but that is not usually a time for chaos. Nobody is giving up anything of substance for like the 43rd pick. Unfortunately, despite what we were led to believe, the 2025 NBA Draft ended up being a dud from a drama and chaos standpoint. What a bummer.
Now that we're past the first round, all we really have left is free agency/trades. We're about a week away from the new league year opening, and that type of player moment is really the only chance we have at more chaos in what is supposed to be "the craziest offseason ever". It's just a bummer that a night in which you usually see that stuff go down, at the end of the day gave us nothing. I feel lied to. I feel used. I'm not angry, I'm disappointed.
With KD off the board and Brad Stevens last night effectively taking Jaylen Brown and Derrick White off the board, who is even left that would be a "big" trade? Giannis isn't asking out, so where is this chaos going to come from?
That's what we're about to find out, but given what took place last night, it wouldn't shock me if we get to mid July and things are nowhere close to as wild as we were told they'd be.
