This is one of the reasons I love golf and find everything about this sport fascinating. You have a guy in Tommy Fleetwood, one of the more liked players on Tour I'd say. He's someone who is viewed as a 2nd tier guy. He's damn good, not elite, still chasing that first PGA Tour victory. We know what happened on Sunday. He bogeys 18, Keegan sticks one close and drills the putt. Even more brutal is this view of Tommy's putt: 

Welcome to golf though. Shit gets decided quite literally by an inch either way throughout the 4 days every single week. But that video of Tommy not being able to watch. Just sort of hiding his eyes, knowing the crowd reaction will say it all. That's a man who knows he blew it. Granted, he delivered the right way to view it, he still blew it

It's one of those rare sports where it's you vs everything else. It's you vs the course, it's you vs the field. No one else out there, you can only blame yourself (or blame your caddie, sound like an asshole). Dude still has won over $30 million, he's won Ryder Cups. He's been successful but right now he's still the 'best to never win.' That's golf. He knew. He's been in this moment too many times not to know, but this felt like the closest for Fleetwood. This felt like the one. He just waits for the crowd noise and it's books.
