Aaron Wiggins Kicked Off The Thunder Parade Celebration By Talking A Bunch Of Shit With A Perfect Hype Up Speech

It's Parade Day in OKC today which for anyone who has been fortunate enough to experience one knows, it's always an incredible moment. I'm a firm believer in there is nothing on Earth like Parade Day. It's something that never gets old no matter how many times you get to experience it, but your first one? That's about as special as it gets. To finally get to be the team and fanbase that gets to celebrate a championship in the streets of your city is something you remember forever whether you're a player or a fan.

Parade Day is a time to get fucked up, party, and talk all of your shit. That's the beauty of winning, you can say whatever you want, and nobody can tell you a thing about it. You're the Champs.

For the Thunder, I'm not sure anyone understands that better than Aaron Wiggins. I've seen a lot of parade speeches and hype up speeches, and I feel confident in saying Aaron Wiggins delivered one hell of a mic drop

See this is the type of shit talking I can get behind. He's not wrong either. People did talk all sorts of crazy about the Thunder during their down years, but Presti had a plan and a vision. Building a sustainable winner in the NBA is a process that takes time, and you have to take your lumps. Chances are things are going to look ugly for a while when you're starting from scratch like the Thunder were. But now that they've reached the top of the mountain? Hell yeah you better believe I'm going to talk my shit and call out those narratives. It's not like this took a decade, they turned things around in 3-4 years. Think of how many teams are still rebuilding while searching for their title, a 3-4 year rebuild is nothing.

This also isn't the case of a nobody talking shit. Aaron Wiggins had his moments in these Finals, whether it was the big Game 2 performance

Or the way he also showed up in Game 5

Those were two MASSIVE swing games for the Thunder that if they don't win, it's pretty much a wrap for them. Down 0-1, they desperately needed that Game 2 at home. Tied 2-2, Game 5 was what ultimately decided the series after the Pacers blew Game 4. Sometimes all it takes is a role player making timely 3s, and that's exactly what Wiggins did in his role during these Finals (and really the entire playoff run).

As we've seen over the last few days since the Thunder won, there's been this rush to clown on them for their celebrations or reactions to winning, which to me is pretty lame. People are always going to complain about something, the same way I'm sure they'll complain about this speech and whatever else happens today.

To me, that's all rooted in jealousy. Fanbases who are down bad because their favorite team didn't get it done so they in turn try and discredit or shit on the Champs. It's lame as hell.
