'They Don't Have Nick Saban To Save Them': Florida State QB Thomas Castellanos Gave Alabama Some Unreal Bulletin Board Material Ahead of Week 1 Matchup

If you needed another sign that Alabama has completely lost its aura in just one year under Kalen DeBoer, you won't get a better one than this. A transfer quarterback at a program that won two games last season is shit-talking what was the preeminent program in college football just a few years ago ahead of a season opener — where Alabama's focus will be on Florida State all summer and fall camp.

And the thing that really has to stick in the craw of Crimson Tide fans is that Thomas Castellanos isn't wrong. He may not be the guy who's earned the right to say it, but we're talking about the program that lost to Vanderbilt last year. I believe we all agree Nick Saban would have never allowed that to happen.

This quote is either going to end up being iconic or the defining meme of Week 1. If FSU somehow finds a way to beat Bama as a two-touchdown underdog, Castellanos called his shot and is an instant legend in Tallahassee after one game. But he's obviously given some unbelievable bulletin board material to what is still a very talented roster that could absolutely roll the Seminoles on their home field to start the season. And if that happens, you better get the train back on the tracks quickly or you're now in trouble with a fanbase that enters this season very on-edge.

The good news is we get to see this game to open the year. Can't wait.
