Kevin Durant Found Out He Was Traded To The Rockets While On Stage During Fanatics Fest

One of the stressful parts of the NBA offseason is that you never have any idea when news is going to drop. You have to have notifications on for all the usual suspects, and you just hope and pray nothing goes down when you're busy. It's not something to be proud of, but it is what it is. This is chaos season in the NBA, and you have to be on high alert at all times.

Take today, for example. It was a nice little Sunday, we're all just hanging around until 8pm and Game 7 of the NBA Finals finally tips off, and out of nowhere, Shams comes from the clouds with the biggest news of the summer. Where were you when this happened?

I was in my office, just kind of dicking around on the internet with an SVU marathon on in the background and boom, that notification came across my phone and all hell broke loose. What were you doing? Maybe you were folding laundry or making lunch? I'm sure Rockets fans will remember this moment forever.

If your name is Kevin Durant, you were on stage during Fanatics Fest

You have to imagine the idea of going to Houston wasn't a surprise to KD considering they were on his list, and I'm sure the Suns had him involved in all the communication leading up to this news breaking, but that reaction is still fantastic

He should be smiling if you ask me. As I said in the initial trade blog, this is a fantastic destination for KD. The Rockets need a guy who can go out and get their own bucket, and KD was put on this earth to go out and get his own bucket. Considering what else the Rockets were able to hold onto and not give up in this deal? If I'm KD, I'm over the moon with this result.

I will say good on KD for not going the LeBron route and immediately guaranteeing a billion titles. To me, it felt like he knew the news was coming at some point and was just enjoying the overall reaction as the rest of us lost our collective minds. That had to be pretty cool to see, and I'm always so impressed on how players are able to keep this shit under wraps. Especially someone like KD. I'm actually a little surprised he didn't just break the news himself on Twitter.

As I said in the initial blog, the Rockets saw their opportunity to put their nuts on the table and make a drastic move, and they went all in. Barring injury, this team should be good as hell and fun as hell to watch. The crazy part is there's no reason they should be done either. They still have assets available to get even better.
