How Did I Not Know That Harrison Bader Was Using Some Wild Looking Chug Jug Water Bat To Warm Up With?

I saw this floating around social media the last day or two and thought that AI had gone too far yet again, but I guess this is real? Harrison Bader of the Twins bought a bat from Japan that he saw from Instagram to help his swing, not the weirdest story in the world, but then you see the bat….. It's clear and filled with aqua blue water. It's the chug jug from Fortnite. Now I haven't played Fortnite in like a decade but I can't forget that chug jug, this is identical to that. We've seen Paul Skenes and his water jug backpack thing that is pretty similar to what Bader uses this bat for, but lets be honest, it looks pretty damn cool.

Bader uses the bat to help his swing path and keep the swing level, it's kind of like one of those collapsable golf clubs that helps you keep your swing smooth. It allows you to see where the water is dispersed to see where the flaw in your swing is. In the video she mentions that it allows you to see if you're swinging too downward or upward, visually you are able to tell right away what you're doing wrong. It's pretty neat if you think about it, I'm just shocked we haven't seen this before. Obviously he's not using it in a game (but that would be cool), just in the on-deck circle as a warm up method tory and tinker with his swing before stepping in the box. But it's wild that it's talent his long for someone in the bigs to figure this out and try it.

I'm sure guys have done it at home, or in the cages but this is the first time I can recall seeing one on an MLB field. Game is a billion years old and we're seeing this for the first time. I wonder if we'll see more folks jump on the trend. Decent season for him so far this year, .254 with 7 homers for the Twins, but I bet if he was hitting .300 with 15 bombs we'd see more folks trying it out. Again, it's not groundbreaking technology or something, it's just colored water in a bat, I just think it looks cool and am shocked that he's been using it for a few weeks and I hadn't seen it yet. Maybe on players weekend he can put some goldfish or a beta fish in there and let that bad boy swim around while he's using it on deck. Cool stuff here by Bader, thinking outside the box here.
