'Whatever He Wants' - J.J. Spaun Is Doing The Smart Thing And Sending Viktor Hovland A Gift For Giving Him A Read On The US Open Winning Putt

I don't think anyone is saying that Viktor Hovland's read won the US Open for J.J. Spaun, but it didn't hurt. He had two putts from 64-feet to win and we know what happened:

It sure as hell didn't hurt having Hovland putt before him on the same line and give him a read on how hard he had to hit it. Spaun even admits that, he said he knew the break he just didn't know the speed. You had to deal with all the rain, the greens being different because they were soaked and trying to figure out how to lag it down there to at least give you a tap in. A three putt wasn't out of the question when Spaun landed there.

But you gotta reward the golf gods. Every single person who golfs will tell you this. Spaun won a little over $4 million after that putt, a bottle of wine is cheap. Get Hovland whatever he wants. Let the man pick out a car if he wants, you just became history at Oakmont. Also find this woman and get her a gift

Can't get over the image of 5-year old J.J. Spaun laying under a car as a lady thinks she hit a cat. No other choice but to hang up skateboarding at that time and as a dad agree with the decision. One thing goes wrong with your kid and it's basically that's never happening again, at least that's how I think. But you gotta find her and get her a gift too for just making you only focus on golf.

Either way, this is the smart move. Spaun basically locked up a Ryder Cup spot this year, he gets all the benefits of winning the US Open from exemptions to the $4 million payday. Yeah, reward Hovland for the read.
