Mark Your Calendars: December 6 Is Going To Be the Best College Sports Day of the Year

It's June 17. If you're a normal person, you're probably enjoying the summer, getting ready for a 4th of July vacation and thinking this is the best time of the year. I, however, am monitoring the calendar for days like what we have to look forward to on December 6.

What a Saturday we have on our hands in just a matter of six months, folks. All those elite basketball matchups to supplement the college football conference championship games. Days like December 6 are why we do it.

I was initially slightly perturbed when I saw this basketball slate being played on 12/6 rather than the following Saturday when all we really have is Army-Navy, but then I came to the conclusion that having an awesome hoops slate alongside the conference championship games is an elite setup. You only have one football game going at a time for most of the day, so having a good secondary screen is key. And we still get Kentucky-Indiana, Alabama-Arizona, Texas-UConn, Kansas-NC State and Purdue-Marquette that following Saturday, so that day is packed with great hoops, as well.

I'm looking forward to being at the beach in a couple weeks just like everybody else, but after that, get me to Week 1 and let's get the best part of the year started. Baseball is stupid and it's too damn hot.
