'What The Fuck Am I Doing?' - Darren Waller Decided Mid-Game It Was Time To Retire Because The Giants Ran The Ball 3 Times, Turned Him Into A Fullback

Darren Waller is one of the more unique/frustrating players in recent memory for me. Unique because he looked like a star at times, was this hybrid tight end who had all this potential and Jon Gruden loved him. If Coach Gruden loves you as a player you gotta be doing something right. Then there was the trade to the Giants, something I thought was great for us because it felt like a steal

But clearly the ghost of Kadarius Toney struck.  You can't just trade the Kadarius Toney pick and end up with someone good. No you get a guy who decided it was time to retire when he basically became a fullback for three plays

Those three plays worked! He even admits it.

I'm not going to do what you think here. I'm not going to call him a pussy or soft or a jackass for retiring because he was asked to block on a play that worked. No, this is the type of shit the Giants had to get rid of. I'm glad Darren Waller found peace and decided to retire.

The Giants need to get back to winning tight ends. I don't know if Theo Johnson is the answer or Daniel Bellinger or Thomas Fidone is the answer. Just give me the Kevin Boss or Jake Ballard type guys again. Not even asking for Mark Bavaro or Jeremy Shockey. Boss and Ballard won Super Bowls by putting on their hard hats and making plays. So, no problem, good that Darren Waller found out he didn't want to block and it was time to retire.

This makes me miss the old fullbacks. Get Charles Way on the line and bring him back to practice to teach blocking. Watch some Mike Alstott blocking

PS: Still the dumbest ending to that SNF game.
