This Tweet With Every Angle Of J.J. Spaun's Winning Putt From The US Open Is A Cinematic Masterpiece
A day later and it's still just a ridiculous putt. Still has me in awe and one of those that I hope we'll be talking about years down the road. That was a perfect tournament, capped off with one of the better moments in US Open history. I don't even care if people like Spaun or if he ends up being the random winner that becomes a niche trivia question down the road. He won the US Open, probably all but secured a spot on the Ryder Cup and did the near impossible. He made Tyrrell Hatton smile and stop in his tracks
We saw Bobby Mac's reaction go viral:
Viktor Hovland had to pay his respects
I don't blame them. This is where golf is unique because it's you vs a course and then you vs 60(ish) other people on the weekend. You don't have a teammate to blame, you don't have a coach to blame. It's just you. MacIntyre summed it up pretty good:
There are very few things to me in sports as cool as a long tournament winning putt. There's something about the moment the ball is rolling, people start making a little bit of a hushed noise as it grows. It's the best. It's the buildup and it's the finish. One hell of a putt.
