Revenge: A Kentucky Man Was Arrested After Allegedly Releasing a Raccoon Into a Bar That Kicked Him Out
FOX 8 — A Kentucky man, reportedly known as “Cowboy Cody,” was arrested Friday after allegedly releasing a raccoon inside a bar, according to police.
According to the Murray Police Department, officers were called to the bar after a report of a man intentionally releasing a raccoon into The Big Apple Grill and Bar.Officers later found the suspect, who was identified as 40-year-old Jonathan Mason.
Police said they had to forcibly remove Mason from the car because he refused to roll down his windows or exit the vehicle during the traffic stop.
Mason had been previously asked not to trespass on the bar’s property.
Mason was arrested and charged with second-degree assault, third-degree criminal trespassing, resisting arrest and failure of owner to maintain required insurance, first offense.
One person was bitten by the raccoon, according to police.
As Murray State is preparing for its first-ever College World Series game in Omaha, the Murray Police Department is having to deal with bullshit like this back home. If the Racers somehow win the whole thing, nobody go to Big Apple Grill and Bar, because there might still be some items sitting around that came in contact with a rabid raccoon.
This is just classic Cowboy Cody, though. If you get a nickname like that when your name is Jonathan, behavior like releasing a raccoon into a bar that has asked you to leave is not shocking.
The only missing piece of information, as far as I'm concerned, is if this is a raccoon Cowboy Cody had on reserve or if upon being kicked out of the bar, he set out on a hunt for the raccoon with which he was to perform this task. Either one is impressive, honestly.
Hate it for the guy who got bit, but that's the risk you take when you frequent the same establishments as Cowboy Cody.
