The Amount Of Sand On Earth Is Truly Shocking

The topic of sand vs. all other solids came up on The Yak today and KB took a strong stance that there was more sand than anything else.

Sand is in so many things, like rock and glass you don't think of. But is it more than dirt? It's tough to quantify exact measurements, but as far as grains of sand, it comes out way ahead of anything on Earth except drops of water.

But then KB found out that there were 2.5 MILLION ants for every person on Earth and he changed his stance.

By the end of the discussion Nick was saying he could easily kill 100,000 ants with a couple steps and we had lost our way. But it was a fun conversation.
