Despite Winning The French Open Yesterday In One Of The Greatest Matches Of All Time, Carlos Alcaraz Was Left Devastated After Finding Out Spain's National Soccer Team Lost To Portugal

Carlos Alcaraz had probably the greatest moment of his life yesterday when he beat Jannik Sinner in the French Open Final, which may very well go down as the greatest tennis match ever. It was the comeback of all comebacks, and one of the best things I've ever watched with my own two eyes. If you want a recap of the match you can find that here.
What I found hilarious out of the whole thing is that despite winning this match, soaring to a new level of superstardom, and reaching a new peak of his career with everyone in the world talking about him, all it took was the reveal of the Spain-Portugal Nations League final in soccer to completely ruin his day.
You'd think he lost the match based on that reaction and was enduring one of the worst days of his life. Immediately stops signing, picks up his phone, and enters a state of total despair. Dude was totally gutted. And I could be wrong, but it doesn't seem like the Nations League is all that big a deal. Seems the players care, but not the fans so I guess Carlos knows the players well enough to feel their emotions. Either way, I appreciate that level of sports fandom. No matter what is going on in my personal life if the Yankees lose a big game I'm gutted. Nothing else matters. Seems Carlos is the same way with Spanish soccer and that's awesome.
Eventually he did find it in him to celebrate. What a night that must have been.
