Mike Breen Using His Legendary BANG Call In The 1st Quarter Because Pacers Fans Cried So Much Is A Low Point In NBA Finals History
I know people have been bitching and moaning about these Finals. By people, I mean those who don't ever watch basketball and then scream ratings like it actually matters. I thought that would be the low point, mostly because of how annoying the whole ratings scream is. But then it happened. Pacers fans cried so much that Mike Breen had to use his legendary bang acll in the 1st quarter on a mid-range jumper.
It's done. That just ruined the entire BANG moment.
This all stems from Breen not giving Haliburton a BANG call on game 1. Said he saves it for threes and then Pacers fans and NBA Twitter bitched and moaned for 48 hours since there's too many days off between games. This is what we get? We get a worthless BANG call? Low moment not just in NBA Finals history but TV history. You can't have an iconic call out of place, it becomes a joke and Mike Breen going BANG or double bang is for big moments only. You wouldn't hear Bill Raftery call onions with 14 minutes to go in the 1st half.
Embarrassing. I don't want to put that much blame on Mike Breen because he's iconic, so let's just blame the Pacers fans for crying. You can't force an iconic call, you can't bully someone into a mid-range jumper bang.
