Watch: 'Severance' Cast Sings The "Mark Is Hot, Helly's Hot" Viral Theme Song... Did I Mention Dichen Lachman Sings Too? (Gemma's Hot) But It Was Missing Mr. Blue Steel Himself Ben Stiller

What a goddamn run the 'Severance' cast has been on during the past few months. Not only putting out 1 of the best S2's in television history (along with an enthralling, shocking, horribly beautiful season finale) but also completely dominating the #content cycle for their media obligations too.

Major salute to the social media intern that convinced them to do that impromptu reading of a super viral fan song. It's an A+ move that not only shows they're plugged into the pulse of the fans but also genuinely give a fuck about them.

Shout out to Cam Kreitner for crushing this all the way back in March. It's now unofficially/officially the real lyrics to that Theodore Shapiro theme masterpiece. No arguments from me on the validity of those words.

Literally everyone on that show is smoking hot.

And I really can't think of a show recently that's taken such big & unique swings at reinventing how a boring press tour can be turned into so much more. It makes sense knowing they have all-time Hollywood LEGEND Ben Stiller directing behind the scenes, but still impressive nonetheless. Why isn't it happening more?

Right before the S2 premiere they had a live event in Grand Central which really set the bar for any future promotions a show considers doing. Getting almost 100% of your star studded cast to come play dress up for hours in a super busy train station? How many actors would actually change their schedules around to be a part of this?

So bummed I missed it.

Now full disclosure, in 7th grade I did dress up as Derek Zoolander for Halloween and do think Ben Stiller is the greatest comedian/actor/director/writer/producer combo of anyone in this current generation. So I am a little biased. But even with that considered, you gotta tip your cap for what they did to push the limits on TV Show reality & how much a little extra effort can evolve an entire industry. Which was desperately needed in this crowded streaming era of pure slop.

If you're a fan of the show I highly recommend checking out the 'Severance' podcast hosted by Ben Stiller & Adam Scott. Lots of great insight into how each episode was made, they have every cast member on to chat for at least 1 episode, and they're just genuinely fun dudes to chop it up with. Very easy casual listen, makes you feel like you're friends with them type of vibe. And the interviews with John Turturro, Patricia Arquette, Tramell Tillman, Dichen Lachman were especially great. Speaking of which,

You must be out of your mind if you think I'll continue this blog without praising THE GOAT Gemma. Or is it Ms. Casey? I guess we'll just call her Ms. Lachman for now.

Dichen's hot. That's the point I'm trying to make here.

And she's an incredible actress too, which was super apparent in the back half of their S2 episodes. If you watch that montage from 'Animal Kingdom' and don't want to scammed by her character immediately no matter the circumstances, I don't know what to tell you. She's like female Bodhi from 'Point Break'. She is the source. (also side note check out the Australian movie that show is based on, great early roles for Ben Mendelsohn & Joel Edgerton, just don't be talking to that cops about it alright mate?)

Now unfortunately I can't give every cast member a hotness gallery because the Barstool app will quite literally explode the phone in your hands. Britt Lower, Zach Cherry, Adam Scott, Christopher Walken… They ALL deserve their own gallery.

But I will give 1 last shout to to John Turturro, who missed that theme song clip for good reason. Irving had to put that shit ON.

NOBODY fucks with da Jesus. Not now, not ever.

I'll close out this ramble of words with one last ode to the original Mr. Bing Bong, Ben Stiller. After my Les Grossman blog I simply HAD to give Tropic Thunder a rewatch for the 68th time and whew boy does it still HIT. But I also went down a behind the scenes rabbit hole (remember DVD extras? miss those fuckers) and found this clip I had never seen before. Such a cool peek into his filmmaking process and the insane A-1 example of a star actor also being his own star director. The dudes are emerging indeed.

Thank you for your service Ben! Can't wait for the S3 'Severance' podcast to get cranking again. Please don't hurt Mr. Milkshake. Love you 3000.

PS: if you want a great comedy to watch this weekend check out 'Flirting With Diaster', Ben Stiller & Patricia Arquette from when they 1st met and TOTALLY different vibe than Severance. But some incredible twisted humor plus early cameo role for Josh Brolin + Tea Leoni, Alan Alda, Lily Tomlin, Richard Jenkins. It's just a delight. Also where I learned the term "baby batter"
