Lois Boisson, An Insane Underdog Ranked 361st In The World, Continues Her Dream Run As She Storms Into The French Open Semifinals Despite Being +55,000 Odds To Win The Tournament

Who doesn't love a fairy tale? Well, we got one right now at the French Open and the main character is named Lois Boisson.
Let's wind back the clock here and bring in some context to how we got here. Lois Boisson is a 22 year old French local who was supposed to make her grand slam debut last year at the French Open. She sadly tore her ACL a week before the first matches got underway.
Back in April she was playing a match where her opponent Harriet Dart hilariously complained that Boisson smelled horrible and it was impacting the match. One of the more ridiculous things I've ever heard as if you could smell someone's body odor from the other side of the court. I'm all for a good excuse, but holy moly was that a stretch.
Boisson entered this year's French Open ranked 361st in the world and she's now ripped off five straight wins, including back to back scalps off of top 10 players. It's one of the crazier slam streaks we've ever seen.

Today she upset world no. 6 Russian superstar Mirra Andreeva in straight sets.
Boisson out-played Andreeva today. She's been great this whole tournament and as a result has gained the full support of the French crowd. Not a soul was rooting for Andreeva today in that building and it absolutely got to her. Now it's not overly surprising that an 18 year old got rattled by a hostile crowd like the French were today. She'll live and learn from this and be better for it. Today Boisson benefited from it and pushed through to the finish line before Andreeva could stabilize herself.
Think about this…Boisson was originally +55,000 to win this tournament. Those are down to +2500. Here's a lit more of an idea of the significance here…
Her life is now completely changed. Boisson is now going to be looked at as a rising star in French tennis. Not only will she at least 5x her career earnings in one tournament, but with this will follow sponsorships, fame, a following, it's all different for her now.

Next up? Oh just Coco Gauff in the semis. She couldn't possibly do this again, right? Well, today Boisson was around a +500 underdog. Tomorrow those odds vs. Gauff are +350. She's getting respect now and at this point I'd be shocked if she didn't give Coco hell.
P.S. Novak Djokovic vs. Alexander Zverev gets going in a few hours. -110 odds each way with a spot in the semis on the line. Go watch on TNT to get you through the work day.
