The Last Ride (Again): Charles Barkley Hasn't Even Started The New Version Of Inside The NBA And Said The 'Best He Can Do Is 2 More Years'

I actually love this move from Charles Barkley. The man talks about retirement so much that it's hard to take it serious. But every time he talks about retirement it becomes a little bit of news

That was in 2022! Obviously things change with TNT losing the rights to the NBA, everyone basically fighting to keep this show together and whatever new iteration we're going to get. But I love that we just did a whole final ride of Inside the NBA on TNT, they are going to ESPN/ABC now. Now, we're going to get a final ride of Charles Barkley's retirement tour for 2 years and yet I fully expect him to work the full seven years.

I actually do think the retirement tour for the entire show this year was justified. It's not going to be the same. It's been talked about from basically everyone, but how do you do this show on ESPN? They have commercials, their own shows and TNT can just let this show go because it's a re-run of like Charmed on after. It's also the whole TNT setup vs everything on ABC.

Incredible negotiation by Charles Barkley though. You have 7 years left, I'm doing 2. Not sure how that exactly works, but I respect the move mostly because I just assume Barkley will always be there next to Ernie Johnson.
