All Is Right In The Football World: Scott Hanson Announces He'll Once Again Be The Face Of RedZone After We Had Reports Of Him Possibly Leaving

A few months ago there were reports that Scott Hanson would be leaving RedZone. His contract was up, negotiations weren't really out there and it seemed like we would have to get used to a new face on one of our TVs. Now, 100 days from the first Sunday in the NFL, Scott Hanson announced this:

Fuck yeah. I said it in the original blog, but I am an old man at this stage in my life. I don't want to get to know a new face, I want to hear and watch comfort stuff. I want Bill Raftery on Big East basketball games. I want to hear Joe Buck and Troy Aikman calling a football game together. I want home teams in basketball to wear their white jerseys. I want Scott Hanson on Red Zone. I know the witching hour bit can annoy people, I know even Red Zone can annoy people, but it's great to have on one of my TV's on Sunday. I basically go Giants on TV1 because I love punishing myself and then RedZone on a TV and the best game of the slate on another TV. Ideal setup to watch the NFL because of time between plays and everything.

But this is about Scott Hanson, not my office. He's a dual threat

[Source] - Hanson will also be signing with NBC Sports to return as host of Gold Zone during the 2026 Winter Olympics, but that won’t interfere with RedZone. He’ll be doing both.

Love it. Gold Zone was a nice touch to the Summer Olympics. Let the man host any sort of zones. Add it for soccer, add it for basketball, I don't care at this point. Give me another option to put on the TV and you'll have my attention. But like I said, it's the comfort of hearing his voice in the background. The real question is will we have commercials?

We will not stand for hearing commercial-free and then getting a commercial. I'm not even anti-commercial, I grew up having to time piss breaks and getting a drink to commercials. I think the younger generation needs the same. It helps build you as a human, you learn timing and it's a gift to nail it perfectly. Just don't lie to me about the commericals.

Either way, Scott Hanson is back. 100 days and it's a football Sunday. Embrace summer, but also football.
