Congrats To Angel Reese Tying A WNBA Record Last Night Along With A Gritty Single Double (2 Points, 12 Rebounds, 3 Steals, 5 Turnovers). The Beautiful Game!

Just to maintain journalistic integrity, I do need to point out that Dave's tweet above was sent out while they were still playing that game. Not a totally fair representation of her entire performance. She did end up adding 2 more points via free throws, along with 5 additional rebounds, 2 more steals (and 3 turnovers) for a pretty illustrious final stat line. Good job, good effort!

And look it doesn't give me any pride to report that box score but when history is made it needs to be honored. I'm not here to write about Angel being a (-25) albatross on the court for her team, in a blowout loss to the defending champs. Or point out that the Chicago Sky are 1 of 3 winless teams while leading the winless way pumping out a (-30) average point differential.

All things that might make Dr. James Naismith roll over in his grave and make his ghostly soul regret inventing the sport entirely.

But again, I'm not here to write about that. I'm just here to watch greatness!!

Everybody clowned Angel for that quote above but clearly many of them were just plain WRONG. Sure Caitlin Clark is a generational talent who does things on the court I've never seen any gender do. And plenty of fans are into that I guess.

But getting to be a #WITNESS to paint glory like this? That's truly special.

Hopefully Twitter doesn't see my headline and just assume I'm in here hating. We've only seen what Angel did 8 times in BASKETBALL history. Appreciate greatness one time will ya!

And to anyone saying she's just an offensive rebound merchant, find a new slant! Maybe.

I did try to do some research on her deeper rebounding stats but couldn't find any legit sources. Mainly was wondering how many of her total rebounds come solely from her own misses. If she simply knew how to score standing directly under the basket on the FIRST attempt, how different would those stats look? It's fun to ponder about sports!

And again, to maintain journalistic integrity for all those angry/nasty commenters out there, Caitlin Clark didn't have the greatest game in WNBA history last night. Only shot 4-11 for 11 points but was a (+5) on the floor. Plus her team got the win.

Also why is everyone coming for her crown so aggressively? It's starting to get weird Jerry!

I'm just calling it like I see it. Hopefully Angel Reese can start doing the same. And maybe work in a Mikan Drill or 2 in the offseason.

From what I understand layups are generally known as "bunnies", "gimmies", "easy buckets" etc. Obviously I'm just a blogger not a professional athlete… But might be helpful to MAKE shots like that on the 1st attempt instead of flailing around the baseline for a few minutes. Either way I think we can all agree, rebounding is pretty fucking sick. Was always my favorite part of playing NBA Jam. She’s on fire baby!!!
