Hell No: The Giants And The Rest Of The NFC East Will Be The In-Season Hard Knocks Teams This Year

So Reags just blogged about the Bills being the next team on the OG Hard Knocks that covers training camp, which is awesome for all the reasons he listed and more. However, HBO decided to follow up that wonderful announcement with the NFC East being the division for the in-season Hard Knocks, which obviously sucks for us Giants fans considering last year's offseason version went so badly that HBO ended it after one year since no team wants to look as idiotic as Big Blue did during that catastrophe.

To be clear, I don't blame HBO or the NFL one bit for picking the NFC East this year considering the Eagles are the defending Super Bowl champions, the Commanders are the team everyone fell in love with last season, and the Cowboys will always be involved in some sort of wild shit as long as Jerruh is running the team from whatever glory hole his family has him parked in at this point.

But I don't know if Giants fans can survive having cameras record their team's every move again considering last year's version made them look like the bumbling fools they are. It's bad enough looking inept on TV during free agency and the draft. The way the Giants have looked in December for most of the last decade has ruined enough Christmas seasons to last a lifetime and I cannot fathom what these lowlights from that time of year will look like when we get a peak from behind the scenes.

I think most Giants fans, myself included, have some serious optimism heading into the season because they like the way the draft panned out, their free agents plugged some serious holes, and our dumb football brains always feel this way this time of year without a shitty product on the field to tell us different. But I also must acknowledge the rational part of my brain along with the low Over/Under numbers in Vegas that say just how bad this team can be and what Jaxson Dart's baptism under fire in Week 15 as Brian Daboll and Joe Schoen try to keep their jobs may look like on Hard Knocks a week later, which in a word is UGLY.

All that being said, I think the in-season Hard Knocks is by farrrrrrrr the best version of it since the training camp one just hits the same beats that they have been doing for decades while also losing the edginess of the earlier seasons. So I guess I am looking forward to that, even if my team could be the clown show team that must be in every in-season version of Hard Knocks. Which is why I am going to say fuck it and get hyped for the show which could include Jameis acting like a preacher again, Cam Skattebo being our scrappy truck-stick laying anvil, and Abdul Carter blossoming into a stud with a pass rush that could be the best we've seen since Strahan, Osi, and Tuck were running wild in blue back in the day.

NOW HIT THE MOTHERFUCKING MUSIC!!!
