Andor Turned Rogue One From A Very Good Movie Into A Great Movie

Apologies for the awkward dreams/nightmares Jyn Bob Fox may give you (which is actually a pretty solid Star Wars name all things considered). But I had to share this week's episode of My Mom's Basement to all my fellow Star Wars nerds now that the franchise has had its biggest upswing in years thanks to Andor sticking the landing.

I blogged how great Andor was following its finale last week:

I also blogged how much I enjoyed Rogue One after it came out almost 9(!!!) years ago.

However watching Rogue One after getting the full backstory once Andor was finished somehow made a very good movie a great movie. The characters feel so much richer, the story makes so much sense, and the entire state of the galaxy is so much clearer. I compare Rogue One to a fast food classic because look at me.

Watching Rogue One on its own is like getting a Cheesy Gordita Crunch from Taco Bell. You enjoy the hell out of it as it gives you a new take on some classic favorites. However rewatching Rogue One after watching Andor is like getting a Doritos Cheesy Gordita Crunch. It doesn't seem like much. But simply upgrading your taco to a Doritos Loco taco is a multiplier that just makes everything better, much like getting the entire Andor backstory before watching Rogue One. A Cheesy Gordita Crunch can be the centerpiece of your Taco Bell meal, but a Doritos Cheesy Gordita Crunch can straight up be your Taco Bell meal (even though we all know we are gonna get 1-2 more items because that's just what you do at Taco Bell).

For much, much, muchhhhhh more on our Rogue One thoughts after the rewatch, check out the My Mom's Basement video above or the podcasts below.
