WHAT'S IN THE BOX!? Are The Indiana Hoosiers Teasing A New Mascot With This Video Of A Creepy Black Glove Reaching Out Of A Crate?
CINEMA! This minute video is better than most feature length films. That cliff hanger ending will keep me awake at night. It took Sinners (apparently the best film in years) 50 minutes to even sniff a hint of real action, while it took 60 seconds for this student project video to get me ready to kill for Part 2. Because I need to know, WHAT'S IN THE BOX?!
Many people online are assuming this black gloved hand reaching out is Indiana's new mascot, or at least the return of an old mascot - The Bison. Not sure why a bison would have hands and not hooves, and this would also mean Indiana has decided to go away from the monstrosity that is the two legged bison.
Honestly, the two legged bison rocks. I'd be happy if they brought back an exact remake, it's hilarious. The weight distribution of the head looks like it would be enough to give any student donning the suit back problems for life. Nothing but respect for the brave college kids who survived a full football season in the mascot costume. Unfortunately, I believe Indiana is bringing back a modern version of the bison, a cartoonish remake of the bison we once knew.
Based off the hands, and the old costumes massive head, I expect the new bison to look a little like Bucky Badger. While not necessarily anatomically correct, this is a full costume, so that in and of itself is already a big win. Plus, this new design would be fun for the kids. A costume hat looks like it's been ripped in half by an 18 wheeler makes kids scream, when a mascot should be screaming family fun.
