The Latest 'Superman' Trailer Looks Incredible (And The John Williams Theme Never Fails To Hit)

Alright - I don't wanna get my hopes up TOO much, but I think James Gunn's 'Superman' looks fucking incredible. Like, next level incredible. Not just "good for a superhero movie" - I believe this could be the best movie of the Summer, maybe one of the best of the year. It's got stiff competition (even in July alone, with the new Jurassic World - which is apparently great - and Fantastic Four) and I know the Snyder fans are doing everything in their power to try to pull this down every step of the way, but I don't think I saw a single thing I didn't like/think was awesome in that trailer today.

Obviously, the action sequences look amazing - the fights, the flying, the giant kaiju monster in Metropolis, the Fortress of Solitude stuff - and the John Williams score is an absolute CHEAT CODE for hype, but I really loved the way this trailer kicked off more than anything. Lois Lane interviewing "Superman" (who she already knows is Clark Kent, we don't have to waste any time on that relationship origin) as the journalist she is, not as his girlfriend. She starts to ask the tough questions that Superman has a hard time seeing the perspective behind and you could just tell they're nailing that dynamic right away. We get some really cool glimpses of the full cast in this trailer as well, including Lex Luthor, Ma and Pa Kent, Hawkgirl/Mister Terrific/Guy Gardner/Metamorpho, and Ultraman - rumored to be some kind of Superman clone - and this guy....

I don't know who that guy is, or if it's even a guy (could be a robot) - but I LOVE that design/look. Feels straight out of the Superman animated series. And I know I've said this before, but I just love how fun and bright it looks. This looks like a Superman movie you could take your kid to - and it should! Think of who this character is for in the first place!

I can't wait - I'll be first in line come July 11th.
