'Trying To Win The Masters, Not Trying To Be His Mate Out There' - Rory Defends Not Talking To Bryson On Masters Sunday, Need Another Final Round Pairing
I'm not sure how this became a story, outside of it being just Rory and Bryson, but here we are. Bryson came out and said that Rory didn't talk to him at all on Masters Sunday:
Yeah, man, seems pretty normal! We know the whole story with Rory trying to exorcise all the demons about Augusta, winning a major again, completing the career grand slam, all that. Of course you're not going to talk to the guy who just beat you on Sunday at the previous major before Augusta. You may say what's up, good luck before you tee off and then it's just focus on the most frustrating game in the world.
But now I want Rory vs Bryson again. I know we have Scottie as the number 1, but there's something about Rory vs Bryson that just plays a little bit more. I don't know if it's Rory was more outspoken about LIV than Scottie and became the PGA face of the split, but Rory vs Bryson plays. I also love a good rivalry and we're starting to get there with these two in majors. You also have Rory at Quail Hollow, a course he just flat out dominates and Bryson being a popular pick. Not to mention Bryson has been damn good in majors recently. He missed the cut at the Open, won the US, second at Valhalla, 6th at the Masters last year and 5th at the Masters this year.
Good for Rory at least openly being like yeah man, just trying to win here. Seems pretty normal.
