RIP To A Movie Icon - Morris, The Alligator From Happy Gilmore, Died At 80(ish) Years Old

Close your eyes and think of animals in movies. Hell, leave them open and start ranking animals in movies. I'd assume one of the first 2-3 you name is the alligator from Happy Gilmore. It's basically Air Bud, the alligator from Happy Gilmore and Jaws as the first three you name in some order. I think the alligator is especially true if you grew up with Happy Gilmore, sitting around the lunch table with your pals just quoting the movie and being hilarious. That's all it took back then and you had the cafeteria table wrapped around your finger.

But it's more than just being the alligator who bit Chubbs' hand off. Morris was a damn movie star:

[Source] - According to the owner of the reptile park, Jay Young, Morris was a star because of his aggressive behavior, as seen in “Happy Gilmore,” with his feisty chomping and hissing. He was in films like “Dr. Dolittle 2,” “Interview with the Vampire,” “Eraser” and “Blues Brothers 2000.” He was also on Jay Leno with Steve Irwin.

Colorado Gators told FOX31 that Morris was forced to retire after he tore up the set of the ’90s sitcom “Coach.” Then he moved to Colorado in 2006, where he spent the rest of his days.

Coach, what an underrated show that is. Might have to go rewatch that one of these days after seeing he tore up the set and was forced to retire from acting forever. Tough way to go out, but fitting for you know, an alligator. But look at the rest of that list. Blues Brothers 2000, Dr. Doolittle 2, Steve Irwin! Steve Irwin alone would have him in the movie hall of fame with the Happy Gilmore cameo, but now he may need a wing in the animal section. Do love how they don't know his real age. Just say he was 80ish and sounds good for everyone. Hell, I hope to make it that long.

RIP to a movie icon.

PS: Hope there's a nice cameo or moment for him in Happy Gilmore 2. It's only right.
