I Will No Longer Acknowledge May 12th On The Calendar After What The Sports Gods Did To Us Last Night
Last night needs to be struck (stricken? I feel in movies they say stricken. It sounds wrong but I think it's actually right) from the record. In fact, I think I will simply not acknowledge May 12th anymore. Sorry Rami Malek and Tony Hawk, your birthdays don't exist to me anymore. Florence Nightingale, kick rocks you old bag. Domhnall Gleeson you're still cool but you have to change birthdays now. Because May 12th is a cursed date and one that no longer exists in my world.
The night started with the Wizards, the most cursed franchise in sports, getting the 6th pick in the draft when they had the best odds for the first pick. A franchise BEGGING for a little luck or rigging from the NBA got fucked in the arse once again. And when I say once again, I mean once again:
1 lotto ball from Zion, a 55% chance at Wemby, and then 1 lotto ball from Flagg. At some point is this just payback for the locker room guns incident? Did the NBA and the Wizards have to strike some backdoor deal? I've seen enough movies and TV shows to know there's often more than meets the eye. Sorta like how people think MJ's first retirement was a gambling suspension, I'm beginning to think the Wizards "bad luck" might be a little more planned than pure bad luck.
And then the Caps lost to go down 3-1 in the series to Carolina. Just the most frustrating game to watch. There's nothing to really say besides Carolina is good. Very good, in fact. They do everything right. It looks like they are playing 6 on 5 out there because they are always in position. I've never seen a team be as suffocating as the Canes are since those old boring Devils teams. There's no shit to talk or refs to whine about- the Canes are just doing everything better than the Caps. Someone asked me if I'm mad and it's not even anger, it's simply just frustration. It sucks to see such a good Caps team get shut down like this. Sucks to see Ovi not get anything going. I mean the Caps were the 1 seed for a reason and now are one game from elimination. It's pure frustration but again, credit to the Canes for executing a perfect game plan. It's not over yet, but man, last night SUCKED.
And then the Nats lost. Might as well toss that in there. It's not the same but whatever.
So I hereby BAN May 12th from my life. I will not be participating in it next year. Unless there's a Caps game. But besides that, BANNED!
