Barstool After Dark Tonight: Tate, Nick, KB, and Rudy Have To Beat The Original Mario Game On The First Ever Nintendo
And it's Tuesday again. Barstool After Dark is back tonight, fresh off Lucas' Roles Reversed Stream, with a new challenge in which we must beat the original Super Mario Bros on the original Nintendo (both released in 1983). We're joined by everyone's favorites: Nick Turani, KB, and Rudy....where we will all be dressed as Mario characters, siting on the couch, locked in a room until we beat the game.
Here's my two cents on tonight's stream:
Cent #1: I'm excited. I'm not a big video game guy, especially not things like Call of Duty, Fortnite, etc. I'll play some NCAA '25 if I'm asked to in the office, but I don't have a system and prefer to do other things with my free time. HOWEVER, one thing I'm always down for is some old school Nintendo. I grew up playing Mario, Donkey Kong, and the classics. So whereas most Tuesdays I'm dreading the upcoming challenge, I'm actually looking forward to this one.
Cent #2: I didn't realize how hard this challenge was. I didn't realize there was no Save function on the NES. So we have to beat the 8 worlds, consisting of 4 levels and Bowser on each, on one run through. Apparently we only get 3 lives and when you lose those, you go all the way back to the beginning. That's on me. I'll be better next time, but tonight, we play until we beat it.
Tune in tonight at 8 Eastern / 7 Central for another live episode of Barstool After Dark. We could be there a while.
**To everyone asking me about "warps?" -- I have no clue what you're talking about so no I don't think we'll be doing warps.
