Tim Elko's 1st Home Run of Career to Win Game For White Sox Was the Sweetest Mother's Day Moment EVER!

Ole Miss hero Tim Elko FINALLY got called up to the Chicago White Sox on Friday night after hitting a whopping .348 with 10 homers in Triple A to start the 2025 season.

In honor of the triumphant news, I immediately decided to spend my weekend at Guarantee Rate Field on the South Side to celebrate the occasion because there was no freaking way I was going to miss his MLB debut!

Tim is a living Ole Miss legend after leading the Rebels to their only baseball national championship in 2022 and there is a statue of him outside Swayze Field in Oxford.

In the spirit of the event, I fired him to homer at +650 on DraftKings Sportsbook. In his debut Saturday night, Tim went 0 for 3 but got totally robbed of an RBI single in the 7th to take the lead by a web gem.

After the game Saturday night, I joined Tim's former Ole Miss teammates pitchers Max Cioffi & Mitch Merrill at In/Out Sports Bar in Linkin Park. We decided there was no chance in hell we were not firing Tim to homer on Mother's Day Sunday.

After a cold Saturday night, Sunday was a gorgeous day at Guarantee Rate Field. Tim grounded into a double play and struck out vs. Sandy Alcantara in his first two at bats.

In the bottom of the 6th, Elko strolled to the plate with runners on 1st and 3rd in a 1-1 tie game. 

And then it happened! As always, Tim Elko has quite a flare for the dramatic…..

Instantly this is one of my top 10 favorite live sports moments of all time! Tim's mom was in tears watching her son's 1st MLB homer on Mother's Day…. you cannot write a better script!

The White Sox won the game 4-2 off this home run and have gained a new fan as long as Tim Elko is wearing their jersey!

My new White Sox fandom is already filling a void in life that I did not know even existed. Being from Louisiana, I have never had a favorite MLB team UNTIL RIGHT NOW!

The odds of Tim & I both ending up in Chicago are astronomical. It feels like a sign from the universe as we have been friends for 5 years. 

I look forward to rockin' on the South Side for years to come! And I dang sure will be taking more Elko HR props on the DraftKings Sportsbook!
