Shedeur Sanders Was The Very Last Player To Walk Off The Field After Browns Mini Camp Day 1
Now THAT is leadership. Brady like. Shedeur is going to prove the haters wrong, that's for sure!
^ To be clear, those aren't my comments on the matter. Those are legitimate replies I've seen from Browns fans throughout the day as the Cleveland media has covered Shedeur at mini camp like it's the Super Bowl. Brady like!
Listen, I'm not hating on Shedeur, but can't people read the room as to what's going on here? Entire world is cheering upon your slide down the draft board, so you decide you're going to outwork everyone and prove the haters wrong. So what do you do? Show up to minicamp early and run hills.....on camera:
Then what's the next step? First day of mini camp....stay out on the field until everyone else leaves, ensuring you get this photo taken:
And the Cleveland media and fan base is just eating this up. Brady like! Get outta here. Maybe it's because I ran the same exact playbook my first week at Barstool, but this cat ain't fooling me. And to my defense, my job is to get interactions….his is to win football games. Shedeur would be an incredible blogger I'm sure, but we need him to win.
Again, this blog isn't a knock on the kid…I'm more so upset with the fans eating up this Day 1 work ethic. Pump the brakes, it's Day 1. Right now you'll get everyone's best effort, but is he still going to be running hills and being last on the field when (if) he's the 4th string QB in the middle of December? We'll see about that. And we'll see if Cleveland is still in one piece in the middle of December anyways, because this dumpster fire could burn down by then….
At this current moment, I'm still not sure where I stand on this situation of having 5 QBs -- 2 of which are extremely polarizing, one is a fan favorite, one is a highly drafted rookie, and one we traded for -- nor do I know the path I'm going to take moving forward to cover it. But what I am going to say….as I blog about the Browns for the second time today when they're coming off a 3-14 season and don't kick off for another 4 months…..is that the Browns brought this circus upon themselves. Day 1 and it's already a media frenzy…for a team that STINKS.
Final thought: I wish Dillion Gabriel and Shedeur would've both stayed out there in a stand-off. First to leave doesn't care! Last man on the field is a true leader.
