"Good I Never Loved The Spotlight Anyway. Always Just Wanted Money, Buckets And Girls" - Kevin Durant Is Back To Burying People On Twitter And Continues To Show Why He's The Greatest Poster Of Our Generation

Given that the Suns didn't make the Play In or the Playoffs (and also isn't even participating in the Lottery), their players have a lot of time on their hands. Some may take this time off and go on vacation, some may use the break to get in the gym and develop their game, you know, standard offseason stuff.

When it comes to Kevin Durant having time on his hands, we also know what that means. It means he's going to hop on Twitter and get into it with people. Easily the greatest athlete poster of our generation, every single time KD hops on the app he never disappoints, and today was no different

Like I said, KD is a generational poster. A first ballot HOFer on the court AND on the internet is quite the career accomplishment, but both are certainly well deserved. I love everything about this interaction simply because of how honest it is. Whenever KD is tweeted stuff like this, his responses are pretty much just like his midrange game. Automatic. If you can't enjoy every time he tells these people he doesn't give a shit about the Warriors era or the Nets era or ruining things for their favorite team, I don't know what to tell you. It's exactly what we should want from players. Open, honest, and not giving a single fuck.

He's also right. History is not going to change. Nothing about what happens with KD in the later stage of his career is going to matter one iota when it comes to his career and his place in NBA history. Why fans think that diss hurts KEVIN DURANT is pretty strange. He's had one of the best NBA careers ever, you think he cares if he doesn't win a ring in his late 30s? Why would he?

The best part of that response is that people are usually so predictable when they take the bait. They talk about how nobody will give him credit for the GS titles and how it was Steph's team etc as if that's some sort of checkmate. Again, we all saw the games. KD was just as important to those titles as anyone else. His performance in both Finals tells us as much. I don't know why people think this is a diss, and it's not even that original. KD has been hearing that for nearly a decade.

The final response is why KD is the GOAT poster. He doesn't care about spotlight, he played for money, buckets, and girls. While I can't confirm the last thing on that list, I'd say he's done pretty damn well in the other two.

In terms of career earnings from just his basketball contract money, he's earned $399,155,146. He still has another $54M in guaranteed money next year, and I imagine he's going to sign another extension somewhere after next season, so it's not crazy to think just his basketball earnings can reach around $500M. That's not even counting endorsements!

In terms of getting buckets, few players in NBA history have gotten more. He's already 8th all time in scoring and one of 9 players to ever crack the 30,000 points club. There may not be a better pure bucket getter in NBA history than Kevin Durant. It's been nothing but buckets since the moment he entered the NBA

Again, I have no idea about the girls part, but I imagine being an NBA superstar translates into having a few options at your disposal. I'll just have to take his word for it on that one.

So while it would have been fun to see KD play playoff basketball because he's one of the greatest to ever do it, I also don't hate the fact that he has a bunch of time on his hands and is spending it on Twitter dunking on weirdos left and right. That will always get a laugh out of me, and I look forward to what's to come for the rest of the offseason.
