DC Released A Jayson Tatum "Superman" Promo And It Might Be The Worst Timing In The History Of Advertising

Alright, I'll say it.

This might be the worst possible time to run a Jayson Tatum "SUPERMAN" ad in the history of advertising. Had this promo come out after his 3 straight 35+ point performances in Round 1? That would make sense.

But…now? Given what we have just seen from Jayson Tatum to open the Knicks series?

While I'm no Robbie Fox so please forgive me if I am misunderstanding what the DCU Superman is all about, but I'm going to assume it is NOT whatever the hell Jayson Tatum is currently doing. If the idea here is that Tatum is going to step up and assume the role of Superman, I imagine that would require him to ya know…step up and come through to save the day. He's has multiple opportunities through 2 games to do just that, and has failed miserably every time. That hurts to type, but it's also the truth. The 4th quarter production is inexcusable. His entire approach last night was exactly how he can't play where he's hesitant, not decisive, and played into how the morons think he should play by passing up good 3s for contested 2s.

I will say, part of me thinks there's a Knicks fan behind that account and if that's the case I have to respect the move. As I said last night, Tatum and the Celtics deserve all the slander they are going to be getting from every corner of the globe for the foreseeable future. When you do the shit they've done to put yourself in this 0-2 hole, you have to take that on the chin.

The good news is Tatum is taking the accountability and ownership of his dogshit play, which is the first step to turning this thing around

It's one thing to say all the right things like Tatum did in those clips, and he's right in what he's saying. But the thing is, it has to translate to the court. Of all the issues the Celts have had to start this series, things will always start and stop with Jayson Tatum. He's the best player. He's the guy who sets the tone. It's not crazy to think if he can snap out of whatever the fuck is going on, this series can change in an instant.

Maybe there is a Superman version that will make an appearance at MSG. Lord knows the Celts are going to need it, because as things stand right now, that might be the only thing that can save the season and keep the title hopes alive.
