Will Howard Says Penn State Thinks Ohio State Is Their Rival....But Ohio State Doesn't See It That Way
Look, you all know that I'm a fair and unbiased journalist. If I disagreed with National Champion Will Howard right now I'd be the first to say it. But I actually have to agree with National Champion Will Howard on this one. Penn State fans get all hyped up for the Ohio State game like it's the Super Bowl, but in Columbus, it's nothing more than a preseason game. And that's not hyperbole. The Buckeyes have won 13 of the last 14 in the series, with that one L being on a 60 yard blocked field goal return for a touchdown with 4 minutes left in the game to win by 3. The fact of the matter is that my nerves reach a level of about 1 on a scale of 1 to 100 whenever we play them. At Penn State? Don't care. They're highly rated? Don't care. White Out? Even better. Even when we throw interceptions for touchdowns to start the game....on the road....when they're loaded....we still win.
I watched that game from a parking lot while tailgating for Florida / Georgia. Didn't really even need to give it the time of day. Michigan game? I'm locked in for a month. Oregon game? Scouting for a week. Even the Indiana game I was upright in my couch, by myself, seeing if I spotted any advantages to help the boys. But Penn State? It's a vacation the week we play them. I can't believe some people have them #1 heading into next season. See you boys on November 1st. Concern level: Zero.
Oh, and if you were wondering, here's the true Ohio State Rival Rankings:
1. Michigan
That's it.
**I vehemently disagree with Big Ben agreeing with Will Howard and saying it's exactly like the Browns and Steelers rivalry. The Browns act like it's huge and the Steelers simply don't care. Not nice!
