Scouting: There's A Report That Some Of The Newer Cardinals Did Research By Watching 'Conclave' Before The Actual Conclave Started

[Source] - Catholic cardinals are — believe it or not — turning to the Hollywood blockbuster “Conclave” for insight on how the real ritual they’re about to partake in might play out, according to reports.

“Some have watched it in the cinema,” a Vatican cleric working on the secretive ceremony told Politico, incredibly.

The 2024 film – directed by Edward Berger and based on a 2016 Robert Harris novel – was thoroughly researched, and some cardinals who previously experienced a conclave have described the movie as an extremely accurate portrayal of the real thing, the cleric said, leading newcomers to turn to it as a primer.

I know people will say this is just marketing for the movie and no way did any Catholic Cardinal watch the movie. But, not me. I believe in film study. I believe in scouting. That's why the Cardinals threw on the movie, because you can't come in unprepared. Not like you can call up a buddy and ask about all the conclaves, you don't know who was there before. I would say let them read a blog too

I can't say I've seen the movie Conclave, but I read the Wikipedia. Good enough for me that this is close enough to scout. In fact, as a Catholic, I want every Cardinal to watch the movie. They got plenty of time on their hands, let them watch that between reading prayers or praying the Rosary. You can't go wrong with hitting the film room. I mean, every level of sports do it, I'm sure actors do it, every business sits through some meetings. This is the way I view it, we gotta pick the leader of the Catholic Church, hit the film room. 

I do love the whole Conclave concept. The fact everyone is waiting around, looking up at smoke to see if we got a new pope, it's awesome. We live in a time that is the most technology advanced era we've ever lived in, yet it's staring at a chimney.

Now that we're waiting for the next vote this afternoon the Cardinals should keep scouting. May I suggest EuroTrip? 

PS: I had to check roughly 42 different times to make sure this wasn't The Onion or something fake. I can't believe this is a headline, with that many likes and people losing their minds. Conclave is delivering early.
