Gets It: Listening To Jalen Brunson Talk, Once Again Proves He Was Made To Be The Player Who Saved The New York Knicks

There's been a lot of jersey number talk around New York sports lately. People losing their goddamn minds over Abdul Carter saying he'd want to wear 56 or 11.

But listening to Jalen Brunson speak, after watching him become Mr. Clutch, after watching him become our Captain, watching him become a superstar, yeah, he gets it. I'm not saying he's the best player in the league, that would be dumb. But he is and was made to be the savior of Knicks basketball. Hell, facts prove that at this point. I'm 38 and went decades with the Knicks not winning games, let alone making playoffs. Now? Now the Knicks are at least constantly in the playoffs and they have a chance to do something because of Jalen Brunson.

Does that change with him wearing a different number? For sure.

13 Jalen Brunson? I don't like it.

1 Jalen Brunson? We may be talking about him as the greatest player in the league. He's already done it while wearing number 1:

The man knows how to take over when he has to and give credit when he's not doing it:

This is what I needed to hear going into game 2 tonight. Stole game 1, trip to Boston already feels like a win, but I refuse to accept that. I know Celtics fans will say they missed roughly 74 threes. Well, the Knicks missed roughly 48 free throws too, mostly Mitchell Robinson, but still. I feel confident because we have Jalen Brunson and the Nova crew. Can't convince me that Brunson getting his boys back together didn't help turn him into a superstar. Man was made in a lab to save the Knicks.
