You Have To Respect The Effort Of These People Using Dummies To Drive In The HOV Lane
UPI News -- The Washington State Patrol said two drivers were caught using dummies to illegally drive in carpool lanes in the space of just a few days.
Trooper Rick Johnson, public information officer for the WSP, said on social media that the first driver was pulled over Tuesday in the high-occupancy vehicle lanes of Interstate 5, near Shoreline, when a trooper noticed the only passenger was a mannequin wearing a brunette wig, a plaid shirt and a scarf.
"Driver admitted this was only to be able to use the HOV lane," Johnson wrote. "The driver also indicated he has not named his 'passenger.'"
Johnson said another driver was stopped two days later on I-5 in Federal Way when a trooper suspected a backseat passenger of being fraudulent.
A full on applause for the effort. The HOV lane is a tale as old as time, and people trying to get into it illegally is a tale as old as time. They are obviously designed to help traffic, and be a benefit to people being energy efficient with less cars on the road, yada yada yada. It's a human instinct for people to immediately want to do something the minute you say they can't. Don't go here ... they want to go there. Always how it goes, especially with driving. People always break laws driving. Always.
With this situation you have to respect the effort of these people here. Most people decide "fuck it" and drive through the HOV lane in a car alone as a slap in the face to everyone else. These two guys at least put in the dedication to make it look like they had three (or two I don't exactly know the rules per state it's 3 in NYC) people in the car. To be honest, when driving by at 50 or 60 miles per hour, there's no way you can tell from a good distance if those people are real or not. The cops on the side of the road likely just assume it's business as usual. I know these people are in the wrong, and them driving solo in the HOV lane goes against everything it is supposed to be there for but don't tell me you've been in car on a long drive and snuck into the lane, maybe next time go all in like these two people and add the disguises to mannequins.
