GTA VI in Your Hometown: The Ultimate Dream Come True
GTA VI will be set in the world-famous Vice City, Rockstar’s version of Miami, and I honestly can’t think of anything more exciting. While this isn’t the first time the Grand Theft Auto franchise has taken us to Vice City, it is the first time I’ll be able to truly appreciate it. The original GTA: Vice City dropped in 2002 when I was three, and when Vice City Stories came out in 2006 I was only seven years old which is way too young to be playing Grand Theft Auto. Like most kids with parents or any guardian for that matter, I wasn’t really allowed near a GTA game until GTA V came out.
Sure, I’ve gone back and played the older titles since then, but to be honest, old graphics just don't hit for me. It's kind of like trying to watch a classic movie from the ‘80s, great story or not, I just can’t get past how dated everything looks. That’s why this new game feels so special. I’ll finally get to roam around a modern, high-resolution version of the city I actually grew up in. Watching the trailer gave me an unexpected rush of nostalgia. It made me miss home in a way I didn’t even expect.
Florida, and especially Miami, is truly one of the most chaotic, vibrant, and unpredictable places on Earth. If you grew up there, you probably already know how wild things can get. It’s the kind of place that turns you into a lunatic but in the best way possible. That’s why I’m genuinely hyped to see how Rockstar brings that chaotic Florida energy into the game. I’m fully expecting to see "Florida Man" moments come to life in NPC form, dudes in gator costumes doing backflips off airboats, random street brawls over nothing, and people hitting wheelies on the freeway. And if they don’t include someone tossing an alligator through a fast food drive-thru window, did they even do Florida right?
But beyond just the setting, I’m also super pumped for the storyline. Jason and Lucia are the new main characters, and from what we’ve seen so far, they’re going to be an iconic duo. Lucia is sexy as fuck, plain and simple. I'm fully down for the ride, robbing banks, high-speed chases, then going back to the apartment to have hot sex with Lucia. Honestly, the vibe is very “Nicky Smokes” wild, reckless, but charming and I’m all in.
GTA VI isn’t just another game for me. It’s a chance to experience the place I call home in a completely new way through chaos, nostalgia, car chases, and of course trip clubs. I can’t wait to see what Rockstar does with Vice City this time around.
