Diabolical: A South Carolina Man Moved His Girlfriend Into His Apartment Without Informing His Roommate She Was Pregnant and Now That Guy Is Stuck Living With a Stranger's Baby
Ok, this story — which I already felt very strongly about — has taken yet another twist as I now realized I misunderstood the timeline entirely when discussing this situation. I thought our caller knew his roommate's girlfriend was pregnant prior to her moving in and therefore obviously understood there would be a child coming that would presumably then live with him as well. Upon further review, it seems the girlfriend moved into the apartment in December, informed this guy she was pregnant in February and now just had the baby in April.
I take back everything I said about this being at all on the caller.
What a batshit insane thing to do. I guess Arian's point about kicking a new family to the curb is still somewhat relevant, but you don't get to just go around lying about things like your pregnant girlfriend moving in with your roommate four months before she's about to have a baby. Absolutely not.
And while I do hope those two and their child have a great life and everything works out for them, it has to be living somewhere else. I might call this guy back and offer to help him pay for some legal counsel to get this resolved because he's living in a roommate hell few could ever imagine. You thought your college roommate who's never done dishes was an issue and this poor guy is getting woken up at 3 a.m. to the screams of a child that is not his and he didn't know he'd be living with. Nightmare fuel — or I guess it would be if he was getting any sleep.
I just can't get over the balls it takes to do something like this. That's why you can't allow yourself to be guilt-tripped into letting this continue. Your roommate thought he was going to pull a fast one and that you'd be too much of a pussy to do anything about it. That can't stand.
