'It Means Nothing' - The Knicks Are Sick And Tired Of Hearing That They Are Underdogs, Went 0-4 Against The Celtics This Season
Alright, we know what today is. We know that it's the Bet Gala
We also know that game 1 of the Celtics/Knicks series gets underway tonight. Most important series going on if you ask me, mostly because it's the one I care about. Basically everywhere you look you have Celtics fans, people in media, everyone else saying the Knicks have no shot. Everyone just saying it's going to be a sweep, maybe a gentleman's sweep. You know who doesn't want to hear that shit? The Knicks.
I love everything about this. It doesn't matter that Josh Hart is the person saying this. Of course he's a bit of a lunatic, but he's also the soul of this team. He's the one flying around for offensive rebounds and going 100mph at all times. But it's not just him saying this
I don't know if Mikal Bridges has said 25 sentences in his career, but he's backing up Hart. Don't want a Nova guy to say something? Fine, how about Deuce McBride?
Incredible way to throw a little dig in there. I want this to be a rivalry. I miss when the Celtics/Knicks felt like it mattered and it does again right now. No doubt the Celtics are good, reigning champs all that stuff. Only an idiot would say otherwise. But this is why the Knicks went out and got KAT and Bridges, for this sort of series.
Someone tell Thibs this too. We need the mindset of being free and not caring about anyone else out there. That means let's, you know, maybe run a little offense consistently late in games. Jalen Brunson is a superstar and borderline superhero, it's okay if we make a few passes late. But we'll worry about that when it happens. Right now it's about making sure this team competes. No rolling over and dying because the Celtics are favored, don't want to hear it.
