Jalen Brunson Showed Up As Captain Clutch At The End Of Game 6 To Rip The Pistons Guts Out And Silence All Of Detroit

First of all, thank GOD that series is over. I hated the thought of playing the Pistons for months because of how tough they are and how much I like them (except for Tim Hardaway Jr., who I've hated since he was born due to the fact I've hated every Tim Hardaway on the planet since his dad joined the Heat as well as him absolutely robbing the Knicks for $71 million back when they were run by buffoons). I know the Pistons will not only be back but even better fighting for the Central crown with the Pacers now that the Bucks may be cooked. They just need to get Cade running mates that are better than Tobias Harris, THJ, and Malik fucking Beasley. Not only does Cade deserve that but so do the great people of Detroit.

Second of all, thank GOD for Jalen Brunson. For so much of my life, I've had to watch star players come into Madison Square Garden and silence all the screaming New Yorkers talking shit as they ripped the Knicks souls out of their bodies. Tonight, Jalen Brunson did that by turning Ausar Thompson's ankles into mom's spaghetti then draining the series winning shot in front of Detroiters who tugged on Superman's cape all night.

You know a shot is special when it gets the Double Bang treatment.

I was going to lose my mind about the Knicks not fouling up three at the end of the game, but luckily Malik Beasley had the biggest choke job after talking shit that Detroit has seen since Papa Doc got eaten alive in 8 Mile.

A few other random thoughts as they leak out of my fried out brain:

- He's rightfully taken a lot of shit throughout the season, but the Knicks don't win that game with some big plays from Mikal Bridges. Maybe all his haters can direct their anger at KAT for the night since he no showed in a massive game (even though that steal was pretty awesome) or Deuce for forgetting how to dribble like the MonStars stole his abilities.

- Thibs has been taking a lot of heat this year as well as this series, but even his staunchest critic must admit it was a great adjustment having the Knicks play like shit in the 2nd quarter instead of the 3rd so they had more time to dig themselves out of their hole.

- I'll be happy if I never see Mitch shoot a free throw or attempt to catch a pass again.

- It's incredible to watch OG decide he is doing to cause absolute carnage on defense for a few possessions and just take the ball away. Being able to put up the points he has in some of these games while working his ass off on the other end is why you pay him all that money.

- A sturdy 13 and 10 from Josh Hart tonight to go along with a team best +13 will do.

- Dennis Schröder was a tough matchup all series and may have played himself into a nice contract offer that he will turn down and never get close to getting offered again (I actually like Schröder and knew he was gonna be a pest when he got traded to Detroit. Happy I don't have to see him in my nightmares anymore).

- I don't even have anything snarky to say about Ausar Thompson and Jalen Duren. Those guys are fucking beasts and the fact Beef Stew wasn't healthy for the Pistons to mix things up was a huge break for the Knicks.

- Going six against a tough team is one thing. But going six against a team where you have five of the six best players in the series is rough, especially when how almost every game could've gone either way. If the Knicks don't clean up all the shit we've been complaining about all season, the Celtics series not only won't be close but it will be embarrassing because Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown make Tobias Harris and Malik Beasley look like G Leaguers.

- Actually you know what? We aren't ending a series clincher like that. Let's end things with the picture of the Clutch Player Of The Years series clinching shot that had me go from 6 to midnight when I saw it in the Getty archives.
