Sorry Tommy, but you know the NFL is a copycat league whether it's running offenses, stealing defenses, or coming up with ways to make your new fans like you. Jameis' people clearly realized that he needs to become a meme now that the Giants have drafted Jaxson Dart and will pin all their hopes on him the second he throws his first decent pass in rookie mini camp. So Jameis' time as the People's QB of the New York Football Giants is already running out.

Luckily for Jameis, he doesn't have to worry all that much about Russell Wilson stealing much of his shine even if Russ begins the season as the starter because most Giants fans will roll their eyes at all his Rah Rah Russ bullshit. I guess there is a chance that Big Blue could get off to a decent start with Russ under center, which would make him beloved since we are starving to eat some W’s. But I'm not sure what combination the schedule makers would have to come up with in order to give the Giants a winning September.

I guess I could see a path where the G-Men walk away from trips to Oakland, New Orleans, and New England with 2-3 wins, which would get the entire fanbase hyped. But the guillotine of like every playoff team from last season appearing for almost every game the rest of the way would hang above a start like that, with Jameis' neck likely being on the line for a chunk of those games. Which is why I am telling Jaboowins to keep having fun on social media and getting his Tony Soprano on now because Winter is Coming, no matter how good this draft class is.

Blogger's Note: I am so sad that I turned that video into a negative blog, but last season crushed my spirits after covering this team for the last decade to the point I'm not even excited for the NFL season right now. I also reserve the right to get excited the minute the Hard Knocks theme hits or even the first clip of Jaxson ripping a dart in practice since spring is always eternal when you have a first round QB with no professional blemishes on his record.
