The Caps Just Lost One Of The Most Chaotic First Round Games In Montreal
The Caps are still up 2-1 in the series but man that was one of the most chaotic first round games you'll ever seen. The Habs fans were loud as hell and the home team clearly fed off of it. The Canadiens out shot us, out hustled us, out-everythinged us to the tune of a 6-3 win.
It really just wasn't the Caps night at all. Way, wayyyyy too many turnovers, way too many scoring chances allowed, and not nearly enough pucks on net. Logan Thompson kept the Caps in the game, only to get what appeared to be badly injured, which obviously fucking sucks. LT has stood on his head all series, and now it looks like Charlie Lindgren will be in net for the foreseeable future (they haven't commented on LT's injury as of this blog, but he couldn't put pressure on it as he skated off with the Habs fans taunting him).
Playoff hockey is nuts, and the Bell Centre was nuts tonight. You see a performance like they had tonight and wonder how the Canadiens barely even made the playoffs at all. Sick, sick, sick sport.
Game 4 is Sunday. Hopefully we get Protas back and the rest of the team bounces back. You aren't going to win 'em all, and I think people sometimes actually do forget that after 1 loss. People are all doom and gloom and it's like, have you ever watched the NHL playoffs before? This stuff happens. Let's see how the Caps play on Sunday before jumping off the roof.
