Logical Argument: Ryan Fitzpatrick Wants Zach Wilson To Change His Decision To Wear Number 0 If He's Serious About Saving His Career
You know what? I saw this at first and was ready to make fun of Ryan Fitzpatrick. I didn't want to make fun of Ryan Fitzpatrick, but if you see this tweet that's where your mind goes. That is until you really think about it. I'm not talking about the perception of being an unserious quarterback.
0 is a trash number. It's especially trash for a quarterback. It doesn't look right, it screams you're wearing a practice jersey. Power rankings of the best quarterback numbers are pretty simple:
The best - 22 (simply the best number, shout out Jared Lorenzen)
The best normal number - 10
Top tier numbers - 3, 7, 11, 12, 15
Fine for starters - 4, 8, 9, 17
Overplayed now - 1
Numbers - 5, 13,14 16, 18, 19
Daniel Jones - 6
0 is not made to be a football number, especially at quarterback. It's much like Clem had with the running backs:
I feel very strong about numbers, can't really explain it, but there are simply good numbers and bad numbers. For instance any non-normal basketball number stinks. I hate the weird numbers people wear, much like I hate when a big man wears a single digit number or a guard wears something like 52. 52 is meant to be a center who you think might be overweight but can't really tell.
I just love that Fitzpatrick is taking this serious. Can anyone really argue with him? Dude played forever and for all those teams, I just think of him as number 14. That guy knows how to stay alive in the league which is half the battle. All I know is he's right. 0 is a garbage quarterback number.
