Watch as Chris Russo Finds Out Live on the Air That ESPN Won't Let the Talent Talk About Bill Belichick's Romantic Life

It should be clear by now that Bill Belichick's new venture as HC of UNC is not going to be just your ordinary, garden-variety college coaching tenure. He didn't take the job just to do things the way they've been done before. He's going with this methods, his approach, his philosophies. From padded spring practices without numbers on the uniforms to a detail oriented hyper-focus on fundamentals, to giving his players the tough love they'll need to get the best out of themselves, he's doing what has always worked for him.

And that includes the active involvement of his devoted lady friend, Jordon Hudson:

Hudson has not only been literally by side on the practice field, she's been virtually by his side behind the scenes at Chapel Hill, as reported by The Athletic:

Source (paywall) - The six–time Super Bowl-winning head coach wanted a Tar Heels administrator to copy his girlfriend on certain emails.

The Athletic obtained those emails Friday through an open records request. …

“Though Steve Belichick is in fact Bill’s son, he should be depicted and represented as his own established, credible entity as opposed to an extension of Bill,” Hudson wrote on Dec. 22. “It can be easily misinterpreted that Steve is simply benefitting from nepotism but that is not the case. … I believe being strategic about the depiction of the Steve (sic) will prevent controversy and show upmost (sic) respect towards Steve’s career, validate Bill’s decision as a HC to hire Steve.” …

“Is there anyone monitoring the UNC Football page for slanderous commentary and subsequently deleting it / blocking users that are harassing BB in the comments?” Hudson asked on Feb. 13.

On Valentine’s Day, Belichick followed up.

“I cannot believe that UNC would support my being called a ‘predator,’” he wrote.

No, indeed. Nor should they. Nor should anyone else. Of course the internet is an open sewer of hatred. Social media dark and full of terrors such that not even the Tar Heels football page can be a safe space, away from all the bitterness and scorn. When all these two are is a loving couple of consenting adults who share a common love of the great game of football. And one another. So good on them for insisting that the school police that vile slander. Especially on what is supposed to be the most romantic day of the year.

Yet their influence at protecting their love life does not end at the boundaries of the UNC campus. No, it extends all the way to Bristol, CT. Which Chris Russo discovered live on ESPN as he was referencing Jordon's 3-28 observance:

Mad Dog found out in real time what happens to any media type who dares mock what these two lovebirds have:

That, my friends, is power. Not even having Snoop Dogg and possible future President of the United States Stephen A. Smith on set is enough to allow Russo to start in with the joking and the ridiculing. The producers slammed that door shut as soon Mad Dog broached the subject, before Belichick went Old Testament on the World Wide Leader, and brought the Wrath of God down upon them. And probably the entire Disney Corporation.

So let this be a warning to all of you cynical, black-hearted types who aren't in love with their love story the way some of us hopeless romantics are. Belichick, Hudson, and U. of North Carolina are paying attention. And if you ever want access to that program, an interview, or any cooperation of any kind, you'd better straighten up, fly right, and put some respect in your voice when you mention the First Couple of Tar Heels Football.
