The NBA Has Fined Anthony Edwards $50,000 For Telling A Lakers Fan About His Massive Dick

There are a lot of awesome aspects of Anthony Edwards as a basketball player. The dunks, the fact that he turned himself into one of the best three point shooters in the entire NBA this season, the passion he plays with, the confidence, it's all electric. 

In addition to all that, you cannot overlook his ability and willingness to talk shit. What makes Ant special in this regard is that it doesn't matter who it is. Ant operates with a level of irrational confidence that only the true legends of the shit talking game, and the best part is he almost always backs it up. It's not as if he's a player who is all bark and no bite, Ant will talk his shit and then go out and bury you.

Our latest example of this came in Game 1 against the Lakers, when Ant couldn't help but get into with with a Lakers fan

An insane interaction to take place mid-game, but that's the NBA Playoffs baby. This is the type of shit talking and passion we need. If a fan is going to talk shit, then players should have every opportunity to throw it back at them. As long as they don't go into the stands and fight someone, everything else should be allowed. Who is it hurting? If a fan starts talking shit to an NBA player while his team is dogwalking their favorite team, then the player should be allowed to respond however he pleases.

You would think this is common sense, but don't tell that to the league office

For starters, this may be one of the most insane Shams bombs in the history of Shams bombs. I'm pretty sure nobody had "Anthony Edwards getting fined $50K for telling a Lakers fan he has a bigger dick" on their bingo card, but again, that's Playoff Basketball baby. The Luka trade bomb was a shock for sure, but this one might be the funniest Shams tweet of all time. 

The reasoning the league gave for this fine is also pretty embarrassing

What are we doing? It's not like Ant went into the stands. It's not like he got physical. He just grabbed his dick and talked shit. What's the problem? What happened to passion? What happened to a competitive playoff environment? If the league office is throwing out fines for bullshit reasons, how about we throw out some fines for flopping? How about the refs get fined for being completely clueless and ruining playoff games? A 50K for a little dick trash talk? Grow up.

In a weird way, perhaps the league office just did the Wolves and their fans a favor. I imagine Ant was already pretty motivated given they stole Game 1 and now own homecourt as a 6 seed. Their trip is already a massive success. But you add in that bullshit fine with this mentality?

and we might be on the verge of a generational Ant performance tonight. It's basically a must win game for the Lakers at this point, and you just know Ant won't be able to leave this alone if he has a big night. I expect more X-Pac "Suck It" motions, maybe some more dick grabs, things along those lines. 

There was already enough intrigue in tonight's Game 2 to label it a must watch, and really, this is just icing on the cake. As someone with a deep rooting interest in seeing the Lakers fail, this couldn't have happened at a better time.
