Jalen Ramsey Is Leaving And Somehow Chris Grier Still Has A Job
Ladies and gentlemen, Chris Grier has done it again. Another big splash signing is on the way out the door. Today, Dolphins General Manager Chris Grier announced that the team will be trading star cornerback Jalen Ramsey. Say what you will about Ramsey, but he's still one of the best corners in the league—and by far the best one on the Dolphins' roster. Which makes it all the more bizarre that we’re trading him. Not because he demanded a trade, but because Chris Grier—of all people—decided it was what's best for the team.
This is the same guy who’s been with the organization since 2000 and hasn’t won a single playoff game. Somehow, we’re supposed to believe he knows what’s best for this team. And I won’t even blame him for everything that happened before he became GM in 2016. So let’s start there—with his first draft.
In 2016, Grier drafted Laremy Tunsil, one of the best tackles in football. Great pick. But then, just three years later, he traded him away. 2017? A disaster. There’s not a single player from that draft worth mentioning. In 2018, we drafted both Minkah Fitzpatrick and Mike Gesicki. Fitzpatrick was traded after just two years and is now considered one of the league’s top safeties. Gesicki? He’s catching passes from Joe Burrow. In 2019, Grier drafted Christian Wilkins and Andrew Van Ginkel—two excellent players. Neither of them is still with the team. Wilkins, the heart and soul of the Dolphins' defense, was let go because we "didn't want to pay him."
Tell me—what’s the point of drafting good players if we’re never going to re-sign them?
That brings me to 2020: the biggest draft in Dolphins history. Instead of walking away with Justin Herbert, Justin Jefferson, and Jonathan Taylor, we ended up with Tua Tagovailoa, Austin Jackson, and Noah Igbinoghene. I’ll just leave you with that.
Dolphins fans have been begging Chris Grier for years to build a competent offensive line. And when asked about it, he laughs. Tell me, Chris—what’s so funny? What’s funny about using five draft picks in the first two rounds over the last nine years, and only one of those players is still on the roster? What’s funny about having the same glaring issue year after year and doing nothing meaningful to address it?
I don’t find it funny—and neither does the fanbase.
That’s why it feels like everyone wants you gone. Because we do.
And while I’m at it, let’s talk about leadership—because this team doesn’t have it. What we have are talented players. Big difference. Leaders elevate a team; talented players just make plays. And even when we do have true leaders, they’re shown the door because Chris Grier decides it’s “what’s best for the team.” It’s incompetence at the highest level.
When asked about the team’s leadership heading into this season, Grier could barely name anyone. He scrambled to mention Zach Sieler, then followed it up with Tyreek Hill—a guy who essentially quit on the team after the loss to the Jets last year.
It’s one thing to miss on a pick. That happens. But what’s inexcusable is consistently failing and acting like you don’t give a fuck. It’s a slap in the face—not just to me, but to Dolphins fans everywhere. It’s beyond pathetic that this team hasn’t won a playoff game with some of the talent that’s come through these doors.
And honestly, I don’t know how you survive this season.

On a personal level, I’ve got nothing against you. But as a fan of this team, I can’t stay silent anymore. You need to figure it out—or get out.
