'I Wanted To Be The Bad Guy Today' - Justin Rose Knew His Role In The Playoff And Basically The Whole Golf World Cheering For Rory Against Him

I know everyone is talking about Rory and rightfully so, but we needed to take a minute here for Justin Rose. Dude put together one of the better final rounds you'll see. 10 birdies, a 66, fighting to stay alive and somehow just stayed right there until Rory put that ball in the water on 13.

I know he struggled on Saturday, but you see all the stuff with Rose and it's brutal knowing he had two green jackets snatched from him in a playoff.

Think a lot of people get caught up in the career grand slam and the fact Rory is one of the biggest names we have in the sport. But a win here from Rose? Locks up the Hall of Fame career, becomes a multiple-time major winner and solidifies himself as one the elite players of our generation. Brutal though, I still can't believe he missed the putt in the playoff. He made ridiculous putts during the final round, the putter kept him consistent the first two rounds. It just felt like we were going to a second playoff when both players landed on the green.

It's hard to imagine Rose as the bad guy, but any diehard Rory fan I guess would think of him that way. Also tough to be the bad guy when you shoot a 66 on the final round. He said all the right things, it just happened to be against Rory. Brutal to lose two playoffs for a green jacket.
